Penghu Station was established on October 1, 1967 at No. 72, Jhonghua Road, Magong City. Penghu Station initially rented a private house to serve as its office, with the motorcycle road test site in the vacant lot in back of the office, and rented an adjacent public land for the automobile road test site since there were not many businesses to handle. However, with the increase of business volume and service items, the original space and facility were no longer adequate. In 1976, the construction of a new building for Penghu Station on the current location began, and it was inaugurated on June 1, 1979. It is a sublime 3-floor reinforced concrete office building, with automobile and motorcycle road test sites, automobile inspection site, and service windows for various businesses. The new station covers the acreage of approximately 20,000 m2, and the facilities are complete, which is adequate for conducting all kinds of vehicle services.

         To simplify work procedures, attain administrative efficiency, and shorten public waiting time, one-stop windows for drivers, vehicle records management, and infraction judgment and penalties were established in June, 1998, which fulfilled the tasks of “citizen service.” The station has also been striving to create the new image of “efficiency”, “creativity”, and “vitality" with convenient, simplified, and accurate service.

         As vehicle services are closely related to people’s lives, all conducts shall be “public oriented" with “citizens as our uppermost priority”; the entire staff shall further put themselves in others' positions when promoting vehicle services and taking on the new challenges in the 21st century.
